Sore Ål school in Lillehammer

Bodil Alver Moen: "This is what the 6th grade have been preparing for you!

Just now we have lovely summer, about 25 degrees and sunny weather!"

We are the 6.th grade at Sore Ål school in Lillehammer. In the class we are 60 pupils and 4 teachers. Some lessons we are all working together, other lessons we are in groups.

At our school we have a field were we often go crosscountryskiing and play in the snow. This is a boy in 6th grade. He`s in the air because he has made a skijump.

This was a funny day and it was many exellent jumps. This boy jumps 7-8 meters.

This boy has made a ski jump. He jumped and he fell. He jumped with mountainskis.

This boy has just jumped on a big jump and he took a front flip.

WOW…look at that face, he is jumping high and far. Maybe he got the record? And as you can see, there are many people skiing in the background.

We had three different jumps we could jump on, and it was a lot of good jumpers.

This is a really fun way to ski. In Norway we call it ”Orgeltramp” (orgel = organ). When one ski goes down, the other goes up.

This is a kind of slalom slope with gates that are so small that ve have to bend down to get under.

Here are two teachers and three pupils in the brake. They eat and sunbathe.

We had a cross-country skiing competition. Everyone who wanted to compete could enter the competition. The snow vas quite wet, but the ones who went skiing in the competition managed to go really fast anyway.

They went two km classic style. Many of them take part in ski competitions every week.

We had a great day with skiing, skiing, skiing and skiing! Weather conditions were really good. There were no clouds in the sky.

These are some girls in 6th grade. They like to go down a hill that has bumps and they all hold a long stick in their hands. Some other pupils tried to have one long stick with five people.

Here is another group of 4 girls going down the bumpslope holding a stick.

This is a girl, she is skiing the wrong way down the hill. This hill has many bumps.

Here we are in a skihill jumping on the last bump. We had a lot of fun. We had cocoa and hot dogs. When we were going home, nobody wanted to, because we had had so much fun.

This is a picture from the day 1th grade was sledging on a hill near the school. He is sitting on a small plastic bob slade down the hill.

They like to sledge. Maybe they fall off some times, but they don`t mind.

On our school we play football in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Sometimes it`s very icy, so it`s almost imossible to play. But we love football so much som we play anyway. Sometimes we fall, but we just laugh  and start playing again. The players in the picture are form 6th grade.

Here we are standing on a small hill that only is made of snow. We play on it. It`s a game we call ”The King on the hill”. The point is to push the other kids down som you are the only one standing there and then you are the ”King”.

We use swings also in the winter. Here we swing and fall off. We have a great schoolyard with many choises. In the winter we also have a skating ring.

With greetings from all of us in the 6.grade.
