Natalia Smirnova - a second grade student, she tells about a special holyday at her native town on Far East of Russia.
There is a special tradition in my native town. At the 25 of May every year all pupils celebrate their "Last Bell. This day is the last day at school after 10-11 study years. It is the last day when pupils prepare their homework and seat at the classrooms. Our school has 11 grades. We
finish school at 16-17 years old.
There are some traditions for this celebration. Girls have to ware dark dresses and white aprons, white socks and large bows on their hair (see photo). It is very interesting and beautiful tradition. It is the uniform that was necessary for all schoolchildren 5-7 years ago, in Soviet Russia.
But now we have not a special uniform for pupils at school. Girls ware it only at the day of "Last Bell".
During celebration everybody sing songs about school, teachers and director. We give them presents and flowers for their work and care. We have a party at school with fruits and champagne vine: both pupils and teachers :))
After this party we went by tourist bus and visited places of interest and monuments of out
town.
I love my school, my teachers - they are so cool! I love my school friends and I will never forget that fantastic day - my "Last Bell"!
